"Raoul" a piece by James Thierree.

309/9 to 09/19 2009

James Thiérrée
Cie du Hanneton
Raoul (Création 2009)

This opening show of the season is a very special French premier. James Thiérée heralds his fourth piece, after La Symphonie du Hanneton, La Veillée des Abysses and Au Revoir Parapluie, a solo, as the end of a cycle. But just where it’s headed is a mystery. He sets the scene: ‘Raoul, a fallen king, has taken refuge in a tower he has built to shield himself from the world and from his demons…Yet one beautiful day, a visitor appears and courageously attacks both the building and its occupant. It is none other than Raoul, who has arrived to liberate himself from himself.’ James Thiérée’s shows mix pure poetry, theatre, circus arts, music and dance, and their magical moments have made a lasting impression on countless audiences. His silent, visual art speaks straight to the heart. Here, pleasure, happiness and surprise are more than just words.
